Cash flow period. As this is a charge card, you’ll have 55 days to pay off purchases. This card also presents an interest free option that allows you to take up to 55 days out of the one year term to pay the entire balance.

Spending limit. The American Express Platinum Business Card allows you to use it within your preferred budget, but credit & payment history will be important factors in figuring out what you can spend.

The card application process

If you think the American Express Platinum Business Card is for your business, sign up online in around 10 minutes. You will need to meet the criteria and have all your documents prepared before applying.

Eligibility criteria

Minimum income. Your business must create a minimum of $75,000 in revenue to use their help

Business requirements. It’s important to have an active ABN and a GST registration. They are both needed for legal and tax purposes. If you might not have those yet, now is the time to get on board with them!

New cardholder. If you happen to currently hold an American Express card or have one from another bank, you’re still eligible for the offer. Plus, if you happen to have a companion American Express card from your current/previous bank, chances are that won’t disqualify you as well.

Residency. The Australian citizenship is award to you if you are a permanent resident in Australia.

Credit history. Please note that to use this service, you’ll need to have good credit and have not been subject to any past payment defaults.

Age. Be at least 18 years old to apply.

Required documents

Personal details. In order to qualify for the apply, you will need your full name, email address, residential address, ID number and the number of your passport or driver’s license.

Business details. This includes your ABN, financial details for your business and accountant’s contact details

Financial details. You’ll need to provide some financial documents that prove that you make the minimum required annual income. This could be your accountant, as well as recent individual tax assessments notices.
